This innovation will delve into the CA English learners Roadmap, MTSS, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), as well as the state's ELA/ELD framework. During this series attendees will not only explore key foundational research and state publications, but will also address HOW to implement these best practices.
In closing, as part of this course attendees will view video exemplars in multilingual classrooms, where implementation of strategies will be viewed and coached by expert facilitators. In addition, each strategy will be addressed and classified on WHY it is a promising practice, especially for language learners.Teaching moves will be addressed and coached throughout the course of the video sessions where questions, comments and reflection will be addressed. As a final note, video exemplars and digital resources will be accessible after sessions are concluded as part of continuous professional learning for attendees. Within Module 1, participants will learn about the WHY, HOW and WHAT of OCDE Project GLAD®. In Module 2, will analyze the Bilingual Brain, CA Vision for Multilingual Learners, Integrated/Designed ELD and provide differentiated coaching opportunities for early childhood settings, Spanish Dual Immersion settings, settings infusing integrated/designated ELD and settings supporting adolescent learners.
