SDCOE Writing Redesigned for Innovative Teaching and Equity (WRITE):
An equity-centered approach to integrated K-12 literacy instruction
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
MCAP in collaboration with the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is offering Writing Redesigned for Innovative Teaching and Equity (WRITE). This professional learning series expands on culturally and linguistically responsive instructional practices, with an emphasis on integrated literacy application and examples. During the four synchronous sessions, participants will deepen their understanding and application of the integrated literacy approach. In the asynchronous course component, participants will build their capacity to support site and district implementation through shared projects and engaging dialogue. Through the community of practice gatherings, participants will be engaged in collective learning as they share ideas and deepen their understanding of best practices, discuss problems of practice and ideate together.
