SPECIAL EDUCATION IN MULTILINGUAL SETTINGS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Federal and state laws require that English Learners with disabilities have the right to a linguistically appropriate IEP to achieve equitable educational outcomes. Using principals one and two of the California EL Roadmap this four-module series will focus on tools available to provide services and support to English learners with disabilities in a multilingual setting. The four innovation modules will focus on Moral imperative and what the law says about instructing English learners with disabilities, Prereferral process, I.D. and assessment procedures, Developing the linguistically appropriate IEP & Writing linguistically appropriate IEP goals, and Tools to instruct English learners with disabilities in multilingual settings.
